SafetyFair Florida Registration (pdf)
It is an extreme honor and privilege to have been elected President of the West Florida Chapter of ASSE for 2010-2012. I will work hard to see that the Chapter continues on the path set forth by past Presidents which places emphasis on networking and mentoring opportunities, increasing professional development capability and increasing chapter participation.
Our Chapter will continue to offer quality technical sessions as well as plant tours for our monthly meetings. We are in talks with the Central Florida Chapter of ASSE to have a joint meeting to increase our members networking range. We understand that distance to meetings is a restraint so we hope to have meetings in areas such as Polk, Pasco and Manatee counties.
Your executive board is committed to supporting the goals of the Society of ASSE, which include promoting the advancement of the safety profession and development of our members. We will work to provide recognition to our members who are working quietly to provide safe workplaces for employees.
I look forward to a successful year, but I cannot do this without your help. Please send me your ideas for meetings, or let me know what your executive board can do to further your development as a safety professional. I encourage everyone to become involved in our chapter by attending the meetings and volunteering to give us the benefit of your expertise to make our chapter even better.
Be safe!

NEW GUEST POLICY
After a review of the number of guests that regularly attend our meetings without joining ASSE, your board has approved the following changes:
1. The policy of a guest attending for free for their first meeting stays in place.
2. A guest may attend two meetings without becoming a member. After two meetings, the guest will be expected to join ASSE in order to attend their third meeting. This requirement does not restart each year, year after year, so this practice will stop unless they join our chapter. While we welcome guests to come see what our chapter is all about, the guest policy never intended for someone to be able to benefit from our activities without ever joining the chapter.
3. The meeting fee for the guest's second meeting will be $20. This will cover most of the cost of the meal.
4. The new guest policy goes into effect on October 1, 2009.
All ASSE meetings are open to non-members. ASSE members are encouraged to bring guests. Please contact westflasse@yahoo.com if your company would like to sponsor a future meeting or with any topic/site tour suggestions. By sponsoring a Chapter Meeting the sponsor can either make a flat fee donation to the chapter or pick up the tab for all of the meals at the monthly meeting. In return, sponsors will be recognized in our monthly newsletter and on our website. Sponsors will be introduced at the meeting and will have the opportunity to tell the chapter a little about the company (5 to 7 minutes.) Sponsors may also distribute literature at the meeting.
