President's Message
It is a great honor to have been nominated as your President of the West Florida Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
I am proud to be associated with a chapter that prides itself with a continued resilience in supporting ASSE's strategic goal of being the global champion of the safety, health and environmental profession. I pledge a total commitment in bringing forth the necessary vitality and enthusiasm to our profession and our community in realizing ASSE's strategic goal.
Our focus this year has three common themes: improve networking / mentoring opportunities, professional development capability, and increase chapter participation. I'm very excited to be leading an enthusiastic Executive Board who has already started laying the ground works for a re-energized 2007-2008 period. Expect a quick e-mail survey in the coming days so that we may better serve you and determine if a course direction is warranted. Our score card will reflect these pillars at years end.
For now, as your President I am delighted to be part of this effort. I believe that safety and health professionals in West Florida have a unique opportunity to participate and benefit from the vast resources, knowledge and expertise that exits within our membership. It is also my intent to reach out to those societies, councils and educators within our community whose ultimate goal is also to save lives. The networks, information sharing and professional research that members will have access too, will enable safety and health professionals in our chapter to develop and continuously improve to best business practice.
In closing I would like to take this opportunity to thank our past presidents and executive staffs who have given me the opportunity to serve on various committees throughout my tenure. I now extend those same privileges to any member who wishes to serve and encourage all members to get involved in this worthwhile and invaluable organization.

Directions: Take I-75 South to I-275 to the Westshore Blvd exit (40A). Turn right. The Quorum Tampa - Westshore is about one block down on the corner of Cypress and Westshore.

All ASSE meetings are open to nonmembers. ASSE members are encouraged to bring guests. Please contact Bryan Williams if your company would like to sponsor a future meeting or with any topic/site tour suggestions. By sponsoring a Chapter Meeting the sponsor can either make a flat fee donation to the chapter or pick up the tab for all of the meals at the monthly meeting. In return, sponsors will be recognized in our monthly newsletter and on our website. Sponsors will be introduced at the meeting and will have the opportunity to tell the chapter a little about the company (5 to 7 minutes.) Sponsors may also distribute literature at the meeting.
